 1 medium chopped onion
 1 medium tomato chopped
 3 cloves garlic
 1- inch fresh ginger
 1 medium carrot chopped
 ¼ bell pepper
 1 ½ tbsp tomato paste
 2 tbsp oil
 2 cups of water
 1 cup long-grain rice washed and soaked for 20 minutes
 ½ tsp curry powder
 ½ teaspoon thyme or oregano
 1 tbsp butter
FOR THE CHICKEN
 1 whole chicken cut in half
 1 tsp turmeric
 1 tsp curry powder
 1 tsp paprika
