KELEWELE (Spiced Fried Plantain) is a popular street food in Ghana, enjoyed by the masses! I have 2 kelewele recipes, baked version and fried version.  Here I’ll show how I make my fried version. Enjoy with roasted peanuts!

4 ripened plantains(avoid over ripened as it will absorb a lot of oil while frying)
¼ medium whit onion(any onion works)
 thumb size frozen ginger
 ¼ tsp crushed black pepper
 ½ tsp salt
5 cloves of whentia(grains of selim)
3 calabash nutmeg(substitute with regular, but use only 1/4 of it)
4 cups oil for deep frying
