This simple lentil and chickpea soup, made with mostly staple pantry ingredients is big on flavour thanks to the North African spices - dukkah and smoked paprika. Vegan, and comes together in under 30 minutes.

Β 250 g red lentils
Β 300 g chickpeas cooked
Β 1 onion chopped
Β 2 garlic cloves chopped
Β 1 tbsp olive oil
Β 250 ml coconut milk
Β 250 ml tomato passata
Β 1 tsp dukkah spice
Β 1 tsp ground turmeric
Β 1 tsp smoked paprika
Β 4 bay leaves
Β 500 ml water
Β salt to taste
Β  pepper to taste
Β  chives chopped
